We are a family church in America
This church started at the home of our brother in Christ Cleiton Patrocinio together with other believers. In our first meeting, it was decided that pastor Antonio de La Zerda would start working to plant a new church.
Quickly this church was welcomed by the Baptist Convention of New England through pastor Rafael Hernandez. The church met in homes for about one year. At the First Baptist Church of Sudbury our church celebrated the first worship service on November 23rd, 1997. Pastor Antonio Delazerda left our church in February 2002 after doing a good ministry and Dr. Roberto Alves de Souza took over as her interim pastor until June 2003.
In 2004 our church purchased our building at 35 South Street in Framingham, Massachusetts. Pastor Damivan Santos served our church for a short period of time. After that, Pastor Jason Silva was called to serve and he ended up serving our church family for almost 10 years. At the end of 2016 there was a need for a revitalization project. After some years our congregation became a very small struggling church that had a building in much need of repair downtown Framingham MA.
On March 2017 we merged with a church plant part of SENDNetwork, originally called River Of Life Worship Center from Newton MA. Their church planter missionary also becomes our lead pastor. Pastor Lierte Soares brings a new vision for our people and the merged church, now called Framingham Baptist Church, becomes a multicultural and contemporary community fellowship to reach people with a relevant message.
Lierte Soares assisted pastor Bobby Ready and the Louisiana Baptist Convention for several years on mission projects in Brazil. He was ordained a Baptist minister in 2004, also served as the lead pastor at Calvary Baptist Church. With a big passion for discipleship and evangelism, he decided to answer God's call in 2014 and moved with his family to New England to be a NAMB church planter missionary.
For the past years, pastor Lierte has been pastoring a church in Vermont and our multicultural church in MetroWest Boston. Each week he makes the 240-mile round trip drive between the two churches several times as he evangelizes and disciples the people in those communities and those churches.
